Opposition walkout from Senate to protest stopping of

ISLAMABAD: (APP) Opposition parties on Wednesday staged walkout from the Upper House of the Parliament to protest the blockade of "Kissan Rally" by the provincial government of Punjab in Lahore.

Speaking on a Point of Order immediately after the Question Hour, Leader of the Opposition in Senate Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan criticised impeding the "Kissan Rally" in Lahore, saying Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah was also present in the rally.

Senator Sherry Rehman pointed out the quorum. In counting it was transpired that the House was not in order.

Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani ordered ringing the Bells. The House was not in order after second counting.

The Chairman suspended the proceedings for half an hour.
