A contempt of court proceedings against the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Nawaz Sharif, has been scheduled for a hearing. According to media reports, the Islamabad High Court has set a date for the hearing of the contempt of court request against the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court will hear the contempt of court proceedings against the PML-N leader dating back to 2018, in which citizen Adnan Iqbal had requested action against Nawaz Sharif's statements in 2018.
The Registrar's office of the Islamabad High Court has set the hearing date for the contempt of court request on November 15th.
On the other hand, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, has said that all the illegal obstacles that were created are now crumbling. Clear injustices and dual standards that were applied to Nawaz Sharif will be exposed one by one, and he will play his clear role in politics.
He further mentioned that as far as the playing field is concerned, in 2002, Nawaz Sharif did not participate in the elections, in 2008, he was not allowed to contest the elections, in 2013, Asif Zardari was the President, and elections were held under his tenure, in 2018, again Nawaz Sharif couldn't contest the elections, and he was put in jail. So, was this all a level playing field?
The Senator of the PML-N also stated that Nawaz Sharif did not adopt a rhetoric of confrontation and conflict during his four-year term. Instead, a storm of revelations was made in a teacup, including the Panama Papers. A rejected tweet was also posted, but Nawaz Sharif continued. Now, Nawaz Sharif has also said on the Minar-e-Pakistan that everyone needs to come together, sit down, and make a sincere effort. Only then can Pakistan move forward.
