Earthquake tremors jolt parts of Pakistan

SWAT experienced an earthquake of 3.9 magnitude on the Richter scale on a Saturday, as reported by ARY News. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed that the tremors were felt not only in Swat but also in the surrounding areas. Fortunately, there were no reports of loss of life or damage to property in any part of Swat as of the initial reports.
In response to the earthquake, people came out of their houses in fear, reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba for solace. The initial reports continued to show no loss resulting from the earthquake.
The NSMC Islamabad provided additional details, stating that the depth of the earthquake was measured at 120 kilometers, with the epicenter located in the Hindukush mountain range.
Just the previous week, another mild earthquake had shaken different parts of Karachi on a Monday. Similar to the Swat earthquake, there were no initial reports of loss. This earthquake measured 3.1 on the Richter Scale and affected various areas in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.
The NSMC Islamabad noted that the earthquake's depth was recorded at 15 kilometers, and its epicenter was near the Quaidabad area of Karachi.
Areas where tremors were felt included Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Cattle Colony, various parts of Malir District, Quaidabad, Shah Latif Town, Sherpao Colony, Landhi, Muzaffarabad Colony, Muslimabad Colony, Steel Town, and their adjacent regions.
