ISLAMABAD - Citing conflict of interest, four out of six Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have requested the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to ban Misbah-ul-Haq from working in the premier tournament.
According to the reports, two franchises – Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi – are, however, interested in securing the services of Pakistan Head Coach and Chief Selector.
The PCB was earlier against the dual roles with the Pakistan cricket team and PSL franchises during Mickey Arthur’s era. Arthur worked with Karachi Kings as Head Coach despite holding the same position for the Green Shirts, whereas Inzamam-ul-Haq worked with Lahore Qalandars in addition to serving as the Chief Selector of the national team.
Misbah’s appointment, according to reports, was subject to his condition of working simultaneously with PSL and Pakistan national team.
The PCB was then forced to backtrack from its stance of conflict of interest, however, it remains to be seen whether the 45-year-old associates himself with the league or not.
