Madrassa Reforms: PTI government rejects rumours

*PESHAWAR - *Speaker National Assembly Assad Qaisar on Sunday said the government had no plans to introduce changes in the curriculum of seminaries nor any sort of policy in this connection was under consideration.
Addressing a congregation at Dar-ul-Quran Panjpir here, he explicitly rejected the impression to change the curriculum of seminaries, saying, any such information was nothing but were rumours.
According to Qaiser, seminaries were bastion of Islam and harbinger of peace, adding it was unfortunate that their significance was being ignored by previous governments.
He said that steps would be taken to facilitate students of religious seminaries and making them useful part of society, further adding that seminaries were among the priorities of the government and Ulema would be taken onboard to develop these institutions.
The NA speaker said certain elements were propagating disinformation among masses only to achieve their political objectives. He said that the Holy Quran and its translation would be taught in all the public sector schools of Punjab besides adding Khatm-e-Nabuwat (the finality of the Prophethood) in their curricula.
He also reiterated to use his position for the betterment of humanity owing to confidence of people on him. - APP
