Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially announced Barrister Ali Gohar Khan as the nominated chairman of the party, following Imran Khan's decision not to retain the top post due to legal obstacles leading to internal polls. PTI Senior Vice-President Sher Afzal Marwat conveyed this appointment on Tuesday.
Barrister Gohar, expressing gratitude for the appointment, stated, "Imran Khan is the chairman inside and outside of jail. I will be his nominated successor." He emphasized that he would fulfill the chairman's responsibilities until Imran Khan's return, urging prayers for this significant duty.
Ali Gohar Khan, the newly appointed chairman candidate of PTI, hails from Khyber Pukhtunkhwa’s Buner district. According to the PTI leader’s website, he is an advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, appearing in all high courts.
Previously affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party, he contested a National Assembly seat in 2008 on a PPP ticket.
