ISLAMABAD - PTI government approved new power policy in the country to produce cheap electricity.
Secretary Power Division Irfan Ali has said the development of alternative and renewable energy based power projects is amongst the top priorities of the Government.
Addressing a workshop in Islamabad, he said this is evident from the fact that a new policy has been formulated that targets a share of twenty percent of the installed capacity through renewable sources by 2025 and thirty percent by 2030.
He said that policy has recently been approved by the federal cabinet and now awaits approval of the Council of Common Interests.
