30 Afghan civilians killed in U.S. air strike

KABUL: In Afghanistan, thirty Afghan civilians have been killed in U.S. airstrikes in Helmand province.
Officials and residents of the area told Reuters that Afghan government forces and U.S. advisers called in air support, after coming under attack, but the victims of the strikes were civilians.
However, Helmand provincial governor Mohammad Yasin Khan said troops had called in air strikes against Taliban fighters in Garmsir district causing both civilian and Taliban casualties.
