Punjab Food Authority asks salt processors to follow reform process

The Punjab Food Authority has given a deadline to all salt processors to complete the reform process as per food standards by February 15 next year.
A PFA press release said that a meeting was held between the PFA and office bearers of different salt processors associations in Lahore where PFA Director General Noorul Amin Mengal directed them to ensure the presence of iodine mineral and other ingredients in salt before ending the deadline.
Noorul Amin Mengal said sixty percent of the population is facing food insecurity and lacking different nutritional ingredients.
