Khawaja Brothers get big relief from the NAB Court

The Accountability Court Wednesday sent the Paragon Housing Society reference against Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafiq and others to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.
Accountability Court judge Qamar-ul-Zaman heard the acquittal pleas of the Khawaja brothers and other accused belong to Paragon Housing Society.
Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafiq appeared for attendance.
The accountability court declared that under the NAB amendments, the accountability court has not the authority to hear the cases of less than 100 victims in any case.
The court also said that there are only 8 victims of Paragon Housing Society so it is not authorised to hear the case.
The court declared that under the NAB amendment law, the accountability court does not have the authority to hear this reference, the court cannot even give a decision on the pleas of acquittal.
After the arguments of the parties, the court sent the Paragon Housing Society reference back to the NAB chairman.
