Sehrai deplores silence of world over HR abuses in IOK

Senior APHC leader and Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai has deplored the silence of the world community over the gross and systematic human rights abuses being committed by the Indian troops in Occupied Kashmir.
In a statement in Srinagar, Ashraf Sehrai said India had converted the occupied territory into a big jail where people are being denied basic freedom.
He said it is high time for the international community to impress upon New Delhi to understand that violence is not and cannot be the answer to popular demands for justice, freedom and the right to self-determination.
The senior APHC leader maintained that plebiscite under the UN supervision to determine the future status of Jammu and Kashmir is the only way to resolve the lingering dispute.
