A scholar specializing in strategic stability dynamics in South Asia, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed says India’s nuclear explosion is not just an emerging threat for Pakistan but also for the world peace and security.
Speaking at a round-table conference on `FMCT and Global Fissile Material Inventories’ at Strategic Vision Institute, in Islamabad, he said India 's nuclearexpansion needs greater international attention.
Dr. Mansoor said India wants to become a major global player for which it is exponentially expanding its nuclear capabilities.
He said the central pillar of India 's strategy is to produce larger quantities of fissile material stockpiles, which are not covered under IAEA safeguards.
He said this is an emerging threat for countries like China and possibly the United States in next ten to fifteen years.
