NEW DELHI – Indian Union Home Minister has lashed out at Pakistan onWednesday yet again.
Disregarding the fact of arrest of RAW agent Kulbhusan Jhadav involved inspreading terrorism in Pakistan he said that “Onus is on Pakistan to createconducive atmosphere for talks.
Though talks with Pakistan remains the domain of External Affairs Ministry,the response of MHA came in after Member of Parliament (MP) Sukhdev SinghDhindsa posed question on “peace talks with Pakistan”, India today hasreported.
Replying to the question on whether the Chief Minister (CM) of JammuKashmir Mehbooba Mufti had recently asked the central government to holdtalks with Pakistan, the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home HansrajAhir said “No proposal to hold talks with Pakistan was received by Centrefrom the state government.”
While the relationship has gone downhill between India and Pakistan afterspate of terror attacks including the Pathankot Air Base attack and UriArmy camp attack in 2016, the Home Ministry stated that “The government hasclear and consistent position that it desires normal neighbourly relationswith Pakistan and is committed to addressing all outstanding issuesbilaterally and peacefully in accordance with Shimla agreement and Lahoredeclaration.”
Stating a further response to the unstarred question the MoS said, “Anymeaningful dialouge with Pakistan can be held only in an atmosphere free ofterror, hostility and violence. Onus is on Pakistan to create conduciveatmosphere.”
