Top 5 Pakistani Domestic Airlines ranking unveiled by CAA

Top 5 Pakistani Domestic Airlines ranking unveiled by CAA

In the punctuality report released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) secured the fifth position in terms of domestic flight operations. The CAA's report meticulously evaluated the performance of Pakistani airlines from January to June of the current year, assessing both on-time departures and arrivals.

Regrettably, the timeliness of PIA's domestic flights has been severely impacted by mismanagement and financial crises. The departure ratio for PIA's domestic flights stands at 58.24 percent, placing it behind the top four private airlines in the CAA's domestic operation rankings. Private airlines, in contrast, have displayed a significantly better record of on-time departures than the national carrier.

The months of January to June 2023 witnessed the most significant disruptions in PIA's flight schedules, affecting both departure and arrival punctuality. Among the private airlines, Fly Jinnah took the lead with an impressive on-time departure ratio of 87.93 percent, securing the top spot.

Following closely behind, Air Sial ranked second with an 86.89 percent on-time departure ratio, while Air Blue secured the third position with a commendable 78.36 percent. Serene Airlines held the fourth position with a 62.7 percent on-time departure ratio.

Remarkably, none of the Pakistani airlines managed to achieve a perfect 100 percent on-time departure and arrival ratio, reflecting the ongoing challenges and complexities in maintaining punctuality in the aviation industry.
