Senior Pakistani Police Officer vehicle attacked with grenades

In Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a troubling incident unfolded when unidentified perpetrators executed a grenade attack on the vehicle of a Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP), as reported by ARY News on a recent Wednesday. This targeted assault took place in the Sateen area of Kurram, where assailants threw two hand grenades towards the DSP's vehicle. Fortunately, the DSP and six accompanying policemen managed to evade any harm during this harrowing encounter.

The audacious attackers swiftly made their escape from the scene, leaving law enforcement authorities with the task of launching an investigation into the incident. As per police statements provided to the media, a formal case has been registered in connection with this grenade attack, and efforts are underway to uncover the identity of those responsible.

Adding to the complexity of the security situation, earlier in the same month, the Islamabad police had made a disconcerting discovery when they stumbled upon a suspicious bag in the vicinity of the Secretariat police station.

The bag contained not only hand grenades but also a pistol and a detailed map of the Red Zone, raising concerns about potential threats to the capital's security. These incidents underscore the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement agencies in maintaining public safety and security in the region.
