UK Home Secretary phones Interior Minister Ch. Nisar   

ISLAMABAD: (APP) UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd on Wednesday phoned Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and expressed the desire to further promote bilateral ties and cooperation between UK and Pakistan.

The Interior Minister congratulated his counterpart on assuming duties as UK Home Secretary, said a press release issued.

Rudd said that the exemplary coordination between Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and former Home Secretary and incumbent UK Prime Minister Theresa May had bolstered ties and cooperation between UK and Pakistan.

Both the leaders agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations, including on the issues of security, counter terrorism and narcotics.

Interior Minister said that common interests of the two countries and understanding of Pakistan's reservations by the British government would help further promote relations between the two countries.

Chaudhry Nisar also invited Rudd to visit Pakistan.
