Police used expired tear gas shells at the protestors in twin cities 

RAWALPINDI: Islamabad and Rawalpindi Police have used expired tear gas shells at the protestor in the Committee Chowk today, sources have revealed.

Reportedly, expired tear gas was used by police to disperse protesters in the twin cities on Friday amidst different clashes with activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Muslim League (AML).

Shells that were used in Rawalpindi were manufactured in 1992 and 1994.

Experts have said that tear gas shells are bound to be used within two years of manufacturing.

However reports have also surfaced of death of a child due to the tear gas shelling by the Police.

Expired tear gas shells become deadly due to presence of the poisonous gases.
