The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood has issued a no-objection certificate to the British Council for holding the special O Level examinations in the country starting in the last week of July.
The examinations will start on July 26 and will last till August 6, Shafqat Mahmood said in a tweet on Thursday.
He added that the move will facilitate O Level students to get promotions to A level or FA and FSc examinations from September.
“This kind of examination in July is unprecedented and I am happy that Cambridge is arranging it,” he said. ------------------------------
He also attached a copy of the NOC in the tweet.
The minister understood that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has affected all sectors, however, the education sector was the most hurt.
“We have been taking difficult decisions to ensure that education/learning continues. Every decision has pros and cons but for us, the interest/welfare of students is always paramount,” he said.
