Pakistan faces acute water shortfall

The Indus River System Authority has called an emergency meeting in the wake of acute water deficit believed to be touching a shortfall of 35%.

According to sources, IRSA later on Friday called an emergency meeting link to review the scarcity of water that was about to hit an alarming link 35% shortfall.

Irsa link Chairman Rao Irshad will preside over the meeting link.

Sources said the meeting link was likely to cut down the water share of provinces. Punjab and Sindh cut would be around 23%, sources added.

Currently, Punjab is receiving 90,000 cusecs of water and Sindh’s share is 84,000 cusecs water.
