MOSCOW - Russia has staged large-scale land, air and sea drills in the annexed Crimean peninsula.
The drills which lasted three days involved around 1,5 thousand paratroopers and around 300 military hardware units including large naval ships and aircraft.
The drills happen less than a week before presidential election in Ukraine.
Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. The annexation prompted the United States and the European Union to impose sanctions on Russia, plunging western relations with the Kremlin to their worst level since the cold war. Western countries condemned the annexation.
