IG Sindh Kalim Imam breaks silence over the reports of his transfer out of province

Karachi: IG Sindh Kalim Imam breaks silence over the reports of his transfer out of province.After Sindh government was given a green light signal on Sunday for transferring Inspector General Police (IG) Sindh Kaleem Imam has categorically said, 'I am not going anywhere".

While addressing a ceremony in Karachi today, he said that It was not going to be easy to send him away. This ceremony is being turned into my farewell.

“A conspiracy is being hatched against me but I am not going anywhere. We work according to our oath and we were following all rules and regulations,” he said.

His comments have come following the meeting of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Monday where they agreed to change police chief of Sindh.

Sindh Government had proposed the names of Ghulam Qadir Thebo, Kamran Afzal, Mushtaq Mahar Sanaullah Abbasi and Inaam Ghani as police chief.

The provincial authorities had also written a letter to the establishment division asking for the removal of Imam and the appointment of another police officer in his place.

Earlier, federal government had opposed the transfer of Kaleem Imam but on January 27, it gave a green signal to provincial government to change the IG.
