US and North Korea failed to reach denuclearization deal

ISLAMABAD - The United States and North Korea have failed to reach denuclearization deal at Hanoi Summit in Vietnam.

On second day, the summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was cut short without elaborating the reasons.

According to the White House statement, the two leaders discussed various ways to advance denuclearization and economic driven concepts. However, no agreement was reached at this time.

Later at a news conference at Hanoi Donald Trump said he had walked away from the nuclear deal at the summit because of unacceptable demands from the North Korean leader to lift US-led sanctions.

The US President said two days of talks had made good progress in building relations and on the key issue of denuclearization, but it was important not to rush into a bad deal.
