Political leadership assures full support to Armed Forces, Govt for country's security

An in-camera meeting of parliamentary leaders held in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by PML-N Chief Shahbaz Sharif and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaisar and Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor also attended the briefing.
The briefing was given in the aftermath of violation of Pakistan's airspace by Indian fighter jets, and PAF's retaliation.
After the briefing meeting, in a video message, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he informed the meeting about contacts and strategy of Foreign Ministry.
He said DG ISPR briefed the meeting about strategy of Armed Forces and its steps taken against Indian aggression against Pakistan.
He said Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa took the members into confidence about current situation, military operational preparedness and alertness.
The Foreign Minister said political leadership is united today for the security of the motherland and they announced their full support to the armed forces and the government in this regard.
He said, during the meeting, Chinese, Iranian and Saudi Foreign Ministers called him and he briefed them about regional situation and took them into confidence.
