E-licensing, mobile application & Smart Card launched in Punjab

LAHORE: (APP) Following the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has launched e-licensing, mobile application and smart cards to facilitate the consumers.

The purpose of taking this step is to facilitate the public in getting the services without having to stand in long queues.

The new service was inaugurated by Food Minister Bilal Yaseen, Director General Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Noor-Ul-Amin Mangel and President Allied Bank Limited (ABL) Tahir Hassan Qureshi.

Under the services, the consumers will be able to apply for license through a consumer or by visiting food authority website. Consumer will be informed about confirmation code and all remaining steps on his/her cell phone. Consumers application will be processed to concerned Food Safety Officer (FSO) via online service. Consumer will be informed about submission of fees on his/her mobile number through SMS.

Speaking on the occasion, Food Minister Bilal Yasen said government was making all out efforts to facilitate public. "Through this new system consumers will not face difficulty," he said, adding obsolete system had been ended now.

DG Food Authority thanked CM Punjab. Lauding the incumbent government's new step, he remarked the purpose of launching new technology was to facilitate people. "Long queues culture will be no more as all these steps will be performed easily by consumers," he said.

President Allied Bank Limited also thanked PFA and the Punjab government.
