Chinese Government to install solar panels in Sindh

KARACHI:P: (APP) Chinese Consul General in Karachi Wang Yu informed the Sindh Chief Miister Syed Murad Ali Shah that the Chinese government has initially allocated $80,000 for providing solar panels for rural areas of Sindh.
Wang Yu said this while talking to the Sindh Chief Minister at the CM House here on Tuesday, said a statement.
The statement said that the CM Sindh has decided to launch a solar-village electrification programme in the farflung areas of Sindh with collaboration of China and the CM Sindh held meeting with Chinese Consul General and his team in this regard.
Talking to the Sindh CM, the Chinese CG assured technical support and enhance financial assistance, once the work is started.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the Sindh government has an ADP scheme of Rs 2 billion for village electrification. The allocation of the current financial year is Rs 500 million, he added.
He said that he has envisaged a policy regarding electrification through solar panels of the village away from the national grid.
He wants to see every house in rural areas bright with solar energy, he added.
He said that kachho, kohistan and other areas have no facility of electricity. The scheme would change their lifestyle, he added.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the weather of most of the areas of Sindh is dry with scorching sun during the whole summer and even during the winter there is enough sunlight.
That is why he was traying to take its maximum benefit to pass it on to the poor people of the province, he added.
