Coronavirus Task Force takes key decision over the schools closure across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – The Corona Task Force has proposed to extend the closure of schools in the wake of an increase in coronavirus cases.

In an interview with 92 News' Program 92@8, Dr Attaur Rehman said that coronavirus is increasing at a fast pace and deaths could increase in coming days. "There is no medicine for coronavirus and vaccine is only meant for protection," he said.

He advised the government to ban public gatherings and strictly maintain social distancing in air travel.

Dr Attaur Rehman said that it was wrong impression the variant coronavirus in the United Kingdom had reached Pakistan. "I had stated that such virus have been found whose genes have undergone changes, but they are different from the virus in Pakistan," he said.

He said that coronavirus was continuously changing and a study was being conducted. "Coronavirus is first time changing its shape, which is a matter of concern," he said.
