Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that Pakistan is desirous of peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Talking to British High Commissioner Thomas Drew in Islamabad today, he said Pakistan has suffered immensely on account of the situation in Afghanistan and it had the greatest stake in that country's return to normalcy.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan is continuing a successful campaign against terrorism inside the country and made enormous sacrifices.
The two sides also discussed the regional situation, enhancement of bilateral trade and the significant role of Pakistani community in the UK.
The British High Commissioner said the Britain is committed to support Pakistan in its efforts for a peaceful and stable region. He recognized the sacrifices made by Pakistani law enforcement agencies and the military.
