Candle Light Vigil by civil society in New Dehli for Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (APP):  Various civil society groups organized a candlelight vigil at Rajghat in Delhi to express  solidarity with Kashmiris facing unrelenting brutalities at the hands of Indian forces for demanding their inalienable right to self-determiantion.

 

 

Civil societies including Khudai Khidmatgar, People Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), National Movements Front, Loksamithi, Socialist Yuva Jan Sabha, Delhi Pradesh Sarvodaya Mandal, Citizens for Democracy in Delhi jointly held the event,reported Kashmir Media Service.

 

 

"The candlelight vigil was held against the recent atrocities unleashed by Indian armed forces and usage of pellet guns against children and innocents.

 

 

Representatives of all these organizations raised their voices to open dialogue to end the worse condition and requested all groups to use peace and non-violent process cum dialogues instead of travelling in violent way with the help of weapons," the civil society groups said in a joint statement.

 

 

"Rajghat was intentionally selected to organise this vigil since it is the ideal place for peace and non-violence. From here the message of nonviolence should reach strongly to those who believe in violence," it said.

 

 

On this occasion Khudai Khidmatgar's Faisal Khan, Dr. Kush Kumar Singh, Humayun Hasan Arzoo expressed their views. Noted human right activist N. D. Panchouli expressed his views on behalf of Citizens for Democracy, Sani Dhiman from National Movement Front.
