Steps being taken to strengthen pharma sector: Dr. Zafar

Personal Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza says the government is taking concrete steps to strengthen the Pharmaceutical sector.
During a visit to Headquarters of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan in Islamabad, he said enabling environment will be provided to facilitate responsible growth of the Pharma industry.
The Minister of State said all stakeholders will be invited soon to chart a course for making the field a truly professional one.
Earlier, Chief Executive Officer, DRAP, Asim Rauf, informed that various regulations are in process of introduction to improve the functionalization of therapeutic goods regulation in the country.
He said DRAP is adopting international best practices in order to harmonize its regulations and functions with global regulatory regimes. He said it will further ensure quality and improve safety and efficacy of therapeutic goods.
