ISLAMABAD – Pakistani Officer Major Fozia Parveen is doing the countryproud as she serves the United Nations’ peacekeeping mission in Cyprusamong other female military and staff officers.
Turning to Twitter, Pakistan representative to the United Nations, MaleehaLodhi lauded Major Fozia for her services in the UN peacekeeping mission inCyprus.

Pakistan earlier crossed the target set by the UN from zero to 15 percentdeployment of female military and staff officers in the peacekeepingmission in only 18 months.
“We believe, increased participation of female peacekeepers, andencouraging more women to take up mediation roles helps in thestabilization and reconstruction phases of conflicts,” she had said earlierin April while participating in a debate of ‘Women in Peacekeeping.’
