ISLAMABAD:The Punjab Assembly was informed today that property tax record has been computerized in six districts of the province.

Provincial Excise and Taxation Minister Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman told the house during questions hours that the process has been completed in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Faisalabad in first phase.

He said the motor vehicles registration and taxation system has been centralized and non-registered vehicles and token tax defaulter vehicles are being checked on roads, on daily basis.

Provincial Irrigation Minister, Amanat Ali Shadi Khel told the House that the Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority is working for just distribution of canal water, repair and maintenance of canal, stoppage of water theft with the farmers participation.

Later, the House was adjourned to meet again tomorrow morning at 10AM. APP/AFP
