Pakistan skipper Babar Azam while addressing a press conference said, "In India, we may not have played cricket, but we have knowledge of conditions. I joined the 2019 World Cup as a player, and now I'm going as the captain. It's a matter of pride for me. We'll enter the field with our best preparation, aiming to win the World Cup."
Talking about Vice-Captain Shadab Khan's performance, he said, "Shadab Khan is a great player, and I hope he performs well in the World Cup. When a player does well, everyone praises, but we only have confidence in poor performance."
Regarding central contracts for players, he mentioned, "Discussions are ongoing with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding contracts, and good results will come. PCB always thinks positively for players, and this time will be no different."
During the press conference, a journalist asked about former cricketer Hashim Amla picking Pakistan in the World Cup semifinalists. Babar replied, "You've placed us quite low at number 4, but, Inshallah, we'll be number one in the World Cup."
