Adding to the excitement, Star Sports, the official broadcasters, have brought back the 'Maukaman' character from the iconic 'Mauka-Mauka' campaign, which gained immense popularity in its debut in 2015.
The latest promotional ad features Indian reality star Shehnaaz Gill alongside the Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja. In the promo, Maukaman engages in a conversation with various characters, including Gill, discussing their hopes of witnessing Pakistan secure their first-ever victory against India in a 50-overs World Cup match.
This new campaign is aptly titled '8 ka wait' (Wait for 8), symbolizing the anticipation for Pakistan's first win against India in the World Cup. Currently, India holds a 7-0 record against Pakistan in ODI World Cup encounters.
Pakistan is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on Wednesday night after a layover in Dubai. The Cricket World Cup begins on October 5th, with Pakistan's opening match against the Netherlands on October 6th.
