Pakistan and European Union have agreed to continue to work together for strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, development, migration and peace and security.
The agreement reached during a meeting of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and European Union's High Representative on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York.
During the meeting, they also highlighted the positive impact of European Union's "GSP Plus" status on trade between Pakistan and the European Union.
The Foreign Minister also briefed the High Representative on the regional situation and reiterated that an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process is the only viable option for a lasting peace in Afghanistan.
He said peace and stability in Afghanistan was in the best interest of all, including Pakistan and the region.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi invited the EU High Representative to visit Pakistan in November this year for the Pakistan-EU Strategic Dialogue.
