Kashmiri students stage huge protests in Srinagar against Indian NIA

SRINAGAR - Hundreds of students of Kashmir University and Islamic University of Science and Technology in occupied Kashmir continued their protests on the second consecutive day, on Wednesday, against the summoning of a varsity scholar by the Indian National Investigation Agency to New Delhi.

The students boycotted classes, assembled outside their departments and took out protest rallies in Srinagar and Awantipora.

They raised slogans like “Go India Go Back” and “We Want Freedom.” They carried banners and placards, demanding an immediate end to the harassment of teaching staff.

On the other, a large number of people participated in the funeral prayers of the martyred youth, Abdul Qayoom Najar in Batpora area of Sopore. Abdul Qayoom Najar was martyred by Indian troops in a fake encounter at Lachiproa in Uri, yesterday.
