Gwadar Coastal Highway Cycle Race by Pakistan Coast Guards

KARACHI: (APP) To pay homage to the martyrdom of defenders of Pakistan, the world most adventurous "Second Pakistan Coast Guards Tour D-Gwadar Coastal Highway Cycle Race 2016" will paddle off on September 29.
The Cycle race being held in memory of personnel and officers of Pakistan Army, Navy, Air force, Rangers, Frontier Constabulary, Police, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency who embraced Shahadat for defending their mother land.
Under the aegis and support of Pakistan Army's Southern Command Quetta Lt. General Amir Riaz, the race is being organized by Pakistan Coast Guard with the cooperation of Pakistan Adventures Cycling Federation (PACF) and Pakistan Sportsmen Lions Club International (PSMLCI).
The starting point of the race is Uthal city; district Lesballa on Makaran Coastal Highway in Balochistan province, said Chairman PSMLCI Abid Ali Advocate and Chief Organizer Malik Kaleem Ahmed Awan in a statement here.
The 525 kilometer distance race will be completed in three phases, around 35 national and international cyclists will compete in the race,they added.
Kaleem Awan said that the first stage of the race from Uthal to Ormara is 225 kilometer; in the second phase the cyclists to peddle off 165 kilometer from Ormara to Pasni, while the final 135 kilometer race will be from Pasni to Gwadar.
At the conclusion of the race, the Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zahari will distribute prizes among the winners.
Meanwhile, for the security and monitoring of the race, the law enforcing agencies have made elaborate arrangements.
