A Chinese fighter jet approached dangerously close to a U.S. bomber over the South China Sea. According to the U.S. military, a Chinese fighter aircraft came within three meters (10 feet) of an American B-52 bomber.
The American aircraft was flying over the South China Sea, and Beijing has been held responsible for the incident, as Washington called for it. In a statement from the U.S.
Indo-Pacific Command on Thursday, it was said that this incident narrowly avoided a collision, at a time when both countries are vying for influence and trying to avoid any accidents.
The military further stated, "We are concerned that the pilot was unaware of how close they came to a collision." China's foreign ministry, on the other hand, accused the U.S. of deliberately flying provocatively over the South China Sea.
