New developments reported in LHC over Khadija Shah arrest case

In response to an unsatisfactory report submitted by the Lahore City Police Officer (CCPO) in the Khadija Shah case, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has called for the personal appearance of the Punjab IGP by November 3.

Khadija Shah, who was detained in connection with May 9 protests related to social media posts supporting PTI, has filed a plea seeking contempt proceedings against police officials for not disclosing two FIRs when arrested in a third case.

Despite obtaining bail for the cases involving arson in Askari Tower and vandalism of the Corps Commander's House, she was arrested for allegedly inciting arson at Rahat Bakery.

During the hearing, the CCPO failed to satisfy the court, leading to the court summoning the IGP for the next hearing on November 3.
