SC fixes Hudaibiya Paper Mills case for hearing on Oct 29

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court would hear review petition moved by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection with Hudaibiya Paper Mills case on October 29.

According to the cause list a three-judge special bench headed by Justice Mushir Alam and comprising Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel will hear the petition.

Earlier on December 15, 2017 a three-member bench headed by Justice Mushir Alam had dismissed NAB’s appeal to reopen the Hudaibiya Paper Mills case. NAB had then filed an appeal against the decision.
Hudaibiya Paper Mills case, involving money laundering charges against the Sharif family, was initiated by NAB in 2000 but quashed by the Lahore High Court in 2014. The NAB had appealed the LHC decision in the Supreme Court.

Former minister for finance, Ishaq Dar, also recorded a confessional statement on April 25, 2000 in front of a magistrate in Lahore accepting his role in laundering money.
