ISLAMABAD - Lieutenant General Asim Munir replaces Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar as the Director General of ISI.

He on Friday assumed the charge as the new Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) director general by replacing outgoing Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, who retired on Thursday after reaching the age of superannuation.

He also served as military attaché at Pakistan Embassy in Washington and Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia during his military career spanning over three decades and is considered as one of the most professional and finest military officers.
