BEIJING - Amid US criticism, China vows to further enhance economic cooperation with Pakistan.
China has reiterated its commitment to the principles of consultation and cooperation with Pakistan for shared benefits.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang during a regular press briefing in Beijing said China puts Pakistani people's interests first.
He said major progress has been achieved on CPEC projects during the last five years with early harvests reaped in at least 22 projects.
The spokesperson said CPEC projects have significantly improved local transportation infrastructure and power supply, created tens of thousands of jobs for Pakistanis and contributed one to two percent of economic growth in Pakistan.
