Zahid Hamid may leave Pakistan for abroad

ISLAMABAD: Close aides of PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif have suggested him to take Law Minister Zahid Hamid’s resignation and send him abroad, according to sources.

Reports said PML-N stalwarts have advised Nawaz Sharif to accept the demand of protestors regarding removal of Zahid Hamid in a bid to end the current political turmoil.

Sources said Nawaz Sharif has been advised to take Zahid Hamid’s resignation and send him abroad; however, a final decision in this regard will be taken by Nawaz Sharif himself.

After failure in the crackdown against religious party protestors, sources said, the government has also decided to open door of negotiations to leaders of Tehreek-e-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah Pakistan (TLY).

The party is demanding the resignation of Zahid Hamid over a hastily-abandoned amendment to the oath which election candidates must swear regarding finality of the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
