In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed today against the Indian brutalities and the ill-treatment meted out to the detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails.
Call for the strike has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership, comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
In a statement in Srinagar, the leadership said Indian army, paramilitary forces and police have turned occupied Kashmir into a hell by killing, blinding and injuring thousands of people and ransacking properties worth millions of rupees.
They said a blanket ban has been put on all political activities in the valley.
