Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif Thursday said that Pakistan has got a clear-cut policy regarding Afghanistan's peace process as it was essential to overcome terrorism for whole the region.
He said the United States of America (USA) had killed Mullah Mansour in a drone attack by violating our sovereignty but he did not take any action against Mullah Fazalullah, who was present in Afghanistan and involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Talking to a private news channel, the minister said, Mullah Fazalullah was being protected by various powers in Afghanistan, adding that such kind of double standard should not be adopted against terrorists as it would give a negative aspect to the world.
He said, terrorism had increased in the world but it massively had decreased in Pakistan due to unwavering efforts and infinite sacrifices of our armed forces and civilians in war against terror.
Pakistan had been fighting a successful war against terrorism by itself, he added.
Khawaja Asif alleged that India and Afghanistan were involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan.
Responding to a question regarding F-16 jets issue, he said that Pakistan should not be dependent only on the USA adding that we should find out another market to fulfil out defence requirements.
"We should end our internal differences and face external threats unitedly," he maintained.
He said, there was a need to review our foreign policy and to further strengthen our defence sector.
To another question, he hoped that the Prime Minister would return to the country on Friday and National Security Council's (NSC) meeting would be held on the issue of drone attack.
