ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) reserved its judgment on maintainability of a petition filed by Omni Group seeking details from NAB and FIA regarding registered cases against it in matter of mega money laundering and fake accounts.
Justice Moshin Akhter Kiani hearing the case directed the petitioner to also submit applications to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) under freedom of information law for this purpose.
The bench observed that it was not going to serve notices to respondents rather an appropriate order would be issued. Director Omni Group Nimar Majeed who filed the petition had stated in his petition that he didn’t clearly know about the nature of cases against him and his family members.
He stated that his family was running business of Sugar Mills, Power Generation and farms. They are ready to conduct audit of their business from any international firm. The petitioner prayed the court to provide details of cases registered against them by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The petitioner had nominated chairman NAB and DG FIA as respondents in his case. After hearing the arguments at length, the bench reserved its judgment on maintainability of the petition.
