Balloki Power Project: 10,000 MW to be added in national grid by next year

Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali says there will no power shortfall in the country by next year as speedy work is in progress on several power projects.

He was talking to newsmen at under-completion Balloki power project near Chunian on Monday.

He said load management will be done only in those areas, where bills are not paid. He said the new power plants will provide affordable electricity to consumers and industrial sectors to boost economic activities in the country.

Abid Sher Ali said a total of 3800 MW new electricity has been generated by the present government since June 2013 and further ten thousand MW will be added to the national grid by next year.

He said the 1223-MW Balloki power project will be fully functional by early next year.
