Experts stress need to engage all stakeholders to resolve Afghan issue

ISLAMABAD: National and international experts have stressed the need to engage all stakeholders to Afghan problem to bridge trust deficit for peace and reconciliation in that country.

They were speaking at a Seminar on Afghanistan in Islamabad under the auspices of Sustainable Development Policy Institute.

The experts included Consultant Institute of Military Operations, Royal Danish Defense College, David Vestenskov, Senior Research Fellow Strategic Vision Institute, Dr. Talat Farooq, Assistant Professor, Defense and Strategic Study Department, Quaid-e-Azam University Dr. Salma Malik, and Joint Executive Director SDPI, Dr. Vaqar Ahmed. 

They said sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan is in the interest of regional as well as international peace, stability and security.

They urged cooperation between Afghanistan and Pakistan as only a region-led and region-owned peace process is sustainable solution for peaceful and stable Afghanistan.
