KARACHI: PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif said he would make Karachi better than Lahore and provide public transport to the residents of the mega city.
“It’s time to provide Karachi a public transport system,” the PML-N leader said, addressing a press conference in Karachi.
He said the former PM Nawaz Sharif had given Rs19 billion for Karachi’s green line project but the project remained incomplete until now.
“Do not compare the Punjab government with any other provincial government,” Sharif said, adding that he can only talk about what his government did in the past 5 years. “Ask the PPP what it did in Sindh,” he said.
“I have come to Karachi and will make my home here,” Sharif said, promising that he won’t leave the coastal city now.
Commenting on NAB’s summons in “Saaf Pani Company” scam, the former Punjab CM said that it was his government that caught corruption in the project. “We saved Rs70 billion in the project.”
Sharif looked reluctant to discuss his brother’s remarks about “Khalai Makhlooq” (aliens) in the press conference and said he doesn’t know anything about this Makhlooq. However, he said Jinnat were mentioned in the holy Quran.
