Karachi operation to continue till restoration of peace: COAS

KARACHI: (APP) Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif Sunday said an across the board operation, focusing on the entire network of terrorists, their abettors and financiers, would continue till the objective of peace and restoration of normalcy was achieved in all parts of Karachi.
The Army Chief, during his visit to Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Headquarters here, said every assistance, including intelligence and material combat support would be provided to the Rangers to accomplish their mission, according to ISPR.
Referring to recent incidents in the city, the COAS directed all the commanders, including those of intelligence agencies, to continue working hand in glove and leave no stone unturned in finding the perpetrators.
The Director General Rangers briefed the COAS in detail about the ongoing operations, the prevailing security situation and the way forward for Karachi operation.
The COAS commended the sacrifices and achievements of Sindh Rangers, which had brought about significant improvement in the law and order situation in the city so far.
Talking to the troops, the COAS said that determination, courage and resolve of Sindh Rangers to rid the city of the terrorists and criminals had earned them widest respect from the people of Karachi.
