In Syria, twenty five civilians, including seven children, have been killed in air strikes on the last pocket of Islamic State militants near border with Iraq.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said today that the strikes were conducted around the village of Al-Shaafah, north of the former IS bastion of Albu Kamal.
On the other hand, ten civilians were killed in fresh airstrikes by the Syrian regime on the rebel-held enclave of Eastern Ghouta on Monday.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the air strikes destroyed a building in Douma town, burying an entire family alive.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres has called for immediate implementation of the Security Council resolution for a 30-day ceasefire in the war-ravaged Syria.
In a statement on Monday, he hailed the adoption of the resolution last Saturday but stressed that such resolutions are only meaningful if they are effectively implemented.
The UN Chief also demanded that the ceasefire should also be sustained.
